Centre for Economic Research and Government Policy Studies (CERGPS), a Think Tank based in Hong Kong, PRC, was founded in 2010 with the approval of Hong Kong Government to promote politico-socio-economic research on the world issues and to expand international academic exchange and cooperation.
The mission set by its founders is to conduct high-quality and independent research to provide innovative insight and practical recommendations for businesses and public policy leaders. Since it was established, CERGPS has been committing to the exploration of a new route for the Chinese and South East Asian research and consultation organizations through reform and institutional innovation that fits Region’s actual conditions. CERGPS has grown to become one of the leading Think Tanks in ASEAN countries for its problem-solving research and consulting service.
CERGPS gathers together with a network of 46 affiliated scholars and experts.

Centre for Economic Research and Government Policy Studies is the fruit of Hong Kong’s vital and valuable presence with the International economic order, evoking a need for an independent forum that could critically examine problems facing the region and help develop coherent policy responses. CERGPS was thus for and brought together leading greater regional economists and policymakers to pre agenda for the region’s socio-economic reforms.
Propelled by the process of reforms initiated during the last two decades by each individual country in the region, CERGPS has effectively narrated and participated in China’s and ASEAN’s story as China in particular and ASEAN in general have acquired unmistakable global footprint. From primarily looking inward and engaging with domestic policy decisions, to gradually forging global partnerships, CERGPS today plays a seminal role in building socio-economic policy consensus that enables the region to interact with the world. As new powers re-emerge onto the global stage, existing systems face challenges of agreeing new set of rules to control and regulate the new frontiers of space, the oceans, the internet, and the human mind. The world continues, also, to navigate persisting concerns related to security, strategy, economy and development, energy and resources. As Asia Pacific Region and South East Asian nations begin to play a larger role in the 21st century, CERGPS continues to push normative boundaries, bring new ideas into the positive discourse and provide a platform to a new generation of thinkers. It is supported by it’s team of leading intellectuals, academicians, policymakers, business leaders, institutions and civil bodies.
